ASRA
Volunteer Opportunities

ASRA accepts volunteers willing to work in a fun setting to help restore several historic railroad cars and support our Rail Heritage Southwest project.

Specifically, we are looking for:

DOCENTS

A docent is a tour guide, and we give tours of historic railroad cars at Travel Town on the third weekend of every month. We provide the script and the training, you provide the enthusiasm!

RESTORATION STAFF

Can you paint, vacuum, clean, grease oil bearings, organize or sand? Volunteers with these and any other mechanical skills are welcome! Restoration work days are usually on the first weekend of the month at Travel Town, with other days scheduled as needed.

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR'S ASSISTANT

Would you like to assist our Development Director? Work will include light typing, filing, creative brainstorming, scheduling and grant research. Work is done at the Development Directors office in Glendale. You will really be appreciated and have a good sense of accomplishment with this job, but it does require regular commitment.

TRAINING PROVIDED! Maybe you are looking to enhance your resume or job skills - volunteering is a great way to do it. We keep hours and jobs on file should you need a reference. For more detailed information on any of these positions, please contact Nancy Gneier at nancy@traveltown.org or by phone at (818) 243-5019.
